How to use your face roller!

Hello! Some of you might be veterans when it comes to facial rollers and guasha tools, however I am going to start at the beginning....

Whatever your weapon (guasha or roller) we always start with a clean dry face. I like to apply a facial oil or serum always using organic, plant based products when you can. Using natural products lowers your toxic load and allows skin to start working for itself (like its meant to).

The Guasha crystal and Face roller will help to stimulate the natural flow of collagen below the surface of the skin, making them extremely complimentary but also necessary to any skin care routine.

Like a sore or stiff body through over or improper use of the muscles, the same can happen in your face. Stress can build up through the jaw, temples, between the eyebrows and eye-brow line. The tools also help the serum to penetrate deeper into the skin, instead of sitting superficially.

Lymphatic Facial Drainage Points

  1. Start by applying facial serum all over the face, neck and chest. See Organic Serum, for a great 100% raw, natural, organic facial serum.
  1. Begin from the neck, at Point 1.
  2. For the jawline (point 2), roll from the middle of the chin upwards, all the way to underneath the ear. Focus on any point that you are feeling tension, breathe into these points while using your tool until you notice them soften. Remember to always use the tool in the same direction!
  3. Follow the rest of these numbered points, switching to the smaller end of the roller at the highlighted blue numbers or when you feel guided to.

REMEMBER:

Be gentle around the eyes, (5 and 6 as shown in the illustration). Use the smaller end of the roller to avoid too much pressure as you want to gently de-stress the lymphatic lines, not strain them.Pressing too hard can lead to stress and broken capillaries.

  1. Continue with your skin care / makeup routine.

WARNING: Since I have been using my crystal facial set I have noticed a huge over saturation in the market. But here are some things to be aware of:

Fake crystal rollers, plastic, acrylic and or glass.

These products will not produce the same benefits and result as a natural gemstone roller. You can notice by the look and feel of the crystal, it will be the same colour as all the other crystals on the shelf, which could be from colouring a stone, where as natural crystals will all be slightly different in appearance. Intuitively the crystal aura will feel dead or flat.

You might be asking…. How do I clean my Facial Roller?

  1. The face roller can be wiped down after every use with a clean dry cloth. Having metal fixtures on the roller you want to keep it away from excess water and as dry and clean as possible to make sure it lasts forever. A good facial roller should only be replaced because it is broken, so the better quality your fixtures and setting the cheaper your investment will work out in the long term.
  2. The guasha crystal can be completely placed under fresh water, then dried or left to dry on clean cloth in your bathroom.
