How to Protect Your Energy in a Chaotic World

The importance of Energy Protection in todays world. 

In today’s fast-paced and busy world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, scattered, or emotionally drained. Just as we can try and take care of our physical health, our energetic health also needs protection. When you protect your energy, you create space for peace, clarity, and alignment with your true self and step into a greater ability to live an authentic life.

Here are simple yet powerful ways to protect your energy in a world that is designed to drain it.


1. Notice When Your Energy Is Being Drained

One of the first steps to protecting your energy is awareness. Paying attention to how you feel in different spaces and around different people. Signs of energy drain may include:

  • Feeling exhausted after social interactions

  • Mood shifts or irritability for no clear reason

  • A sense of heaviness in your body

  • Anxiety in certain situations or a sense of flightiness 

Once you recognise the signs, you can take steps to restore balance.


2. Set Energetic Boundaries

Boundaries aren’t just emotional — they’re energetic, too. Visualise a bubble of light around you (white, golden, or violet) that keeps out negativity while allowing positive energy to flow in.
Affirmations such as:

“My energy is safe and protected.”
“I choose what I allow into my space.”

Also, remember that saying no to what doesn’t serve you is one of the strongest energetic shields. Listening to your body - if it's a NO from your body, you do not need to intellectualise it. The body is your guide and has inner knowing that far out smarts the mind, once you start listening to the body-  the mind will catch up. Learning to trust the bodies guidance is a great way to start protecting your energy. 


3. Clear Your Energy Daily

Just like we wash our bodies, our energy fields benefit from cleansing too. Try:

  • Smudging with sage, palo santo, or incense

  • Salt baths or showers while visualising negativity washing away

Think of this as your spiritual hygiene.


4. Use Nature as a Shield

Nature has an incredible ability to reset and protect us. Walk barefoot on the earth, hug a tree, or spend a few minutes under the sun to recharge. You can also carry protective crystals such as black tourmaline, obsidian, or amethyst for an added layer of support.


5. Protect Your Digital Energy

The online world can be just as draining as the physical one. Protect yourself by:

  • Taking breaks from social media

  • Muting or unfollowing accounts that lower your vibration - this can be by making you feel not good enough, insecure, anxious, or people that you're judging. All this lowers your vibration. Follow accounts that make you feel good. Tune into your body and see how the account makes you feel (don't intellectualise) if its anything on the negative spectrum, unfollow or if it's a friend or family member - mute them. No worries. 

  • Limiting news intake, especially before bed. Ask yourself - is this benefiting me? Is this helping me? Do I need to know this? 

Digital detox rituals give your mind and spirit a chance to breathe.


6. Strengthen From Within

The stronger your inner foundation, the less external chaos can shake you. Practices that help include:

  • Breathwork and meditation

  • Gentle yoga or movement

  • Eating nourishing, grounding healthy fresh foods 

  • Gratitude journaling or just gratitude in general. Look for the positive in life, situations and people. 

These practices raise your vibration and make your energy field more resilient.


Protecting your energy isn’t selfish or a privilege — it’s essential. By caring for your energetic health, you create more peace, joy, and strength to share with the world. Start with one or two of these practices and notice how your energy shifts.
